›Galaxies: Origin, Dynamics, Structure
Formation and evolution of galaxies remains one of the most exciting topics in astrophysics. New ambitious observational facilities such as ALMA, GAIA and VISTA can provide us with the data that will advance our understanding of galactic dynamics and evolution. It seems therefore appropriate to dedicate a conference to an overview of a current progress in observational and theoretical study of the dynamics and evolution of galaxies.
The conference is dedicated to the memory of two Russian scientists, Vadim Antonov and Alexei Fridman, who made a major contribution in understanding of galactic dynamics.
Main topics.
- Dynamics of the galactic stellar and gaseous components.
- Structure and substructure formation.
- Star formation in relation to other properties of galaxies.
- Chemical and dynamical evolution of galaxies.
