›5th European Space Cryogenics Workshop
The Thermal Control Section of the Thermal Division of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Directorate of Technical and Quality Management ESTEC is organising the 5th European Space Cryogenics Workshop.
The workshop will be held from 16th to 18th of December 2013, at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC), Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
Please note that the workshop is followed by the 1st ESA Workshop on the Physics of Microgravity Cryogenic Sloshing Motions, that will be held from 18-19 December 2013 in the same premises. The Aerothermodynamics and Propulsion Section of the Mechanical Engineering Department of ESTEC is organising this workshop that will assess developments on experimental and numerical techniques.
This workshop will cover topics related to space developments and on-going and future cryogenic space missions.
A special focus will be on the current developments carried out for Meteosat Third Generation and on the upcoming challenges of cryogenics in Science.
Participants will have the opportunity to share their technical expertise and experiences through formal presentations and informal discussions.
The main objectives for the 5th European Space Cryogenics Workshop are:
- To present the state-of-the-art of cryogenic development for on going Space Missions
- To present experience with In-orbit Cryogenic Systems and lessons learnt
- To explore and elaborate on future needs in the cryogenics field for space applications.
The Workshop will be organised around a single stream of plenary sessions with oral presentations and round table discussions.
