Meeting

Vauxhall, London

In the 1970s a number of designs were produced for large-scale space colonies. The SPACE Project (Study Project Advancing Colony Engineering) is a BIS study to re-examine and update the original studies in view of advances over the last 40 years. As part of their investigations the project team has developed a new concept. This new approach can provide an accessible “stepping-stone” that can help in gaining experience of working in space under simulated gravity – something that has never been done before.

This is one of several topics that team members will be discussing in a number of short presentations that will make up the first major public update on the project’s activities.

Here is an opportunity to hear about a current BIS project and some original work being carried out by its team members, who are looking forward to mankind’s future in space on a massive scale.

A full-day event is being planning to follow; watch out for details.
