As eastern European nations seek to advance their intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance capabilities, the UAV continues to offer a highly effective platform to achieve these objectives

The demands of the security situation in the region demonstrate the need for accurate and timely intelligence, to decisively influence commander’s decisions. Whether ensuring the security of national borders, or directly supporting operations and military exercises, the UAV and tactful strategies for its use offer a proven means of boosting mission effectiveness


As the only meeting of its kind in the region, UAV’s Eastern Europe aims to explore the tactics and technologies for advancing capability in this important area. Drawing on the experience and ongoing work of regional military experts and those from across NATO, the forum will deliberate operational lessons learnt, from challenging environments such as counter-insurgency operations in the Middle East to ongoing security efforts across Europe. In addition to strategy for UAV use, military programme managers from procurement shall discuss the requirements and updates for key programmes

Importantly, the conference will also benefit from the guidance of technical leaders from research and industry, whose insight into the latest UAV platforms, optronics, sensors, datalinks, ground control centres, airborne weapons and mission support systems will provide greater awareness of existing and future capability.
