›Apollo 11 Moon Landing 50th Anniversary Contest at NASA Goddard
Celebrate the first moon landing’s 50th anniversary at the NASA Goddard Visitor Center. Be part of the National Association of Rocketry’s nationwide celebration of Apollo 11. The first 200 contest registrants will receive a Moon landing commemorative giveaway. Attempt to land your model rocket nearest the flag within a moon drawn on the ground. Trophies & model rocket kit prizes are awarded to the top youth and adult finishers. This event includes a narrated demo launch of models of historic NASA rockets, including the Saturn V-Apollo rocket that went to the moon.
The contest is free. On-site registration is required on contest day. You must bring your own rocket and motors or purchase them at the nearby Goddard Gift Shop. An awards ceremony follows the contest.
