ISU ADELAIDE CONFERENCE – A COMBINED ALUMNI AND PROFESSIONAL INDUSTRY EVENT

An International Space University ISU first is coming to Australia in early 2020: the ISU Adelaide Conference. A combined alumni and professional industry event, this conference will bring together old and new ISU students with space industry professionals to explore small satellite technologies.

As a conference sponsor, the newly formed SmartSat Cooperative Research Centre will be hosting a workshop during the conference, with CEO Professor Andy Koronios spearheading an exceptional line up of domestic and international space experts. Australian government will feature with a briefing from the Australian Space Agency and presentation from Dr Sarah Pearce, Deputy Director of Astronomy and Space Science at CSIRO.

Along with ISU President Juan de Dalmau, Dr Charles Norton (Special Advisor for Small Spacecraft Missions, NASA Headquarters) and Sachidananda Babu (Technology Validation Program Manager, NASA Earth Science Technology Office) will bring their international expertise to a discussion around latest developments in small satellite solutions and how they benefit life on Earth.

Thanks to generous support from the innovation hub Lot Fourteen, conference attendees will also look forward to site visits and tours of local space industry, including (but not limited to) CubeSat manufacturing and propulsion system facilities.

It won’t be all work at the conference, though; the Friday night will allow for more relaxed networking at the Conference Gala, to be held at the Italian Centre.

The inaugural session of the ISU Adelaide Conference will be held 31 January to 2 February 2020. Tickets cost AU$150 and can be purchased at www.adelaide.isunet.edu. Proudly sponsored by the Space Industry Association of Australia, SmartSat CRC, Lot Fourteen, and Jones Harley Toole. Email adelaide@isunet.edu for more information.
