Webinar
Online
Online, from London

So much of PPE and spacesuit design as well as manufacturing is about standardisation. However, human body is not standardised. In this webinar, we would like to discuss about the diversitu issue in current modular design of PPEs and spacesuits by bringing in the following questions: Are the current PPEs universally designed? Is a unisex three-size-fit-all design enough for all users? To highlight the importance of diversity in design and manufacturing, we would like to enter a provocative discussion on the need of designing suitable spacesuits for women in space. Would it be possible to have more gender parity in Space? Taking inspiration from adaptive clothing, we will exchange the views on the design for “special needs” in contrast to universal design and standardisation with our invited speakers.
