El 2 de marzo de 2022, expertos espaciales de la Unión Europea expondrán las ventajas de los componentes espaciales europeos Galileo y EGNOS y sus aplicaciones concretas para América Latina en un seminario web específico.

Como sistema europeo de navegación por satélite, Galileo ya proporciona datos precisos de posicionamiento y navegación a millones de usuarios. También ayuda a desarrollar varios sectores empresariales, desde la agricultura y el transporte marítimo hasta la conducción autónoma y las operaciones comerciales con drones. El sistema de aumento basado en satélites EGNOS está potenciando la precisión de los datos de posicionamiento y navegación proporcionados por el GPS y Galileo, ayudando a los pilotos y conductores de toda Europa a realizar sus operaciones con seguridad y contribuyendo a salvar vidas.

El seminario web ofrecerá una visión general de los dos componentes y posteriormente profundizará en más detalles técnicos, casos de uso ilustrativos y las ventajas de los servicios únicos que ofrecen Galileo y EGNOS, como el servicio de Búsqueda y Rescate (SAR) de Galileo y el servicio Safety of Life (SoL) de EGNOS.

On 2 March 2022, space experts from the European Union will outline the benefits of the Galileo and EGNOS European space components and their concrete applications for Latina America in a dedicated webinar.

As Europe’s satellite-based navigation system, Galileo is already providing accurate positioning and navigation data to millions of users. It also helps to develop several business sectors, from agriculture and maritime transport to autonomous driving and commercial drone operations. The satellite-based augmentation system EGNOS is boosting the accuracy of positioning and navigation data provided by the GPS and Galileo, helping pilots and drivers across Europe to carry out their operations in safety and contributing to save lives.

The webinar will provide an overview of the two components and will subsequently delve into more technical details, illustrative use-cases and the advantages of the unique services offered by Galileo and EGNOS, such as Galileo’s Search and Rescue (SAR) service and EGNOS Safety of Life (SoL) service.
