›19th International Conference on General Relativity and Gravitation (GR19)
On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, it is a great pleasure to invite you to the 19th International Conference on General Relativity and Gravitation (GR19) to be held in Mexico City, from 5-9 July 2010. GR19 will be the latest in the series of triennial international conferences held under the auspices of the International Society on General Relativity and Gravitation. It represents the principal international conference for scientists working in the various areas of Relativity, Gravitation, and related topics.
The choice of Mexico City as the venue of GR19 reflects the fact that during the last four decades the number of Mexican researchers has experienced a substantial increase, and General Relativity has become a well recognized field of research in our country. Under the leadership of the Instituto de Ciencias Nucleares of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (ICN-UNAM), a Local Organizing Committee has been formed of representatives from almost all the Mexican institutions where General Relativity is a research topic.
The subject matter of the conference is all areas of General Relativity and Gravitation, including Classical Relativity, Relativistic Astrophysics and Cosmology, Experimental Gravity, and Quantum Issues in Gravitation. The scientific program will be supervised by the Scientific Organizing Committee. A comprehensive social program has been planned for delegates, accompanying persons and families, offering a diverse range of activities to suit all tastes. Events include a welcome reception at the National Museum of Anthropology, a Mexican evening, and different city tours. Pre and post tours include various destinations such as prehispanic Mexican sites, colonial cities, and beaches.
We will be honored to welcome you, your families and friends, and the entire International Society on General Relativity and Gravitation as guests in this great country of ours.
