AID-GI Bowel Cancer Awareness Month ‘Brew Together’
22 APRIL 11:00 - 11:30AM (UK time)
Join us ONLINE on Wednesday 22 April for our AID-GI Bowel Cancer Awareness Month ‘Brew Together’. People will be coming together across the nation during April to spread awareness of Bowel Cancer over a cuppa. We’ll be hosting our own virtual get together to discuss our AID-GI project which utilises satellite technology in the early detection of Bowel Cancer.
In 2018, Bowel Cancer was the third most commonly occurring type of cancer, being diagnosed in 1.8 million people worldwide. Bowel Cancer is one of the few cancers that can be fully prevented if its precursors detected early. Screening tests such as endoscopies and colonoscopies can significantly increase the survival rate of colorectal cancer patients.
Currently, the vast majority of these screenings are undertaken at a clinic, which requires intensive clinician support and can be an uncomfortable procedure for the patient. AID-GI aims to decrease the time spent analysing capsule endoscopy videos while improving the quality of the images.
Put the kettle on and join us. Register now and we’ll send you a webinar joining link!
