The Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) at the University of Michigan is holding a virtual conference called Space Symposium Day. The conference centers around the theme “Making strides in space exploration”. Join us for this conference on May 3rd from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Eastern US time zone) via Zoom to hear from speakers from the university, industry, and NASA organizations. This will be a great opportunity to network and learn what work is being done in Space Exploration. We hope to see you there!

"Making strides in space exploration"

Space Symposium Day was originally planned to be a two-day event planned by SEDS with the goal of demonstrating the space related projects students at the University of Michigan, and the midwest at large, are working on. However, due to recent developments, SEDS is now hosting a virtual conference and hopes to attract various guest speakers, including professors and industry professionals to talk about their experiences working on space exploration related fields. The primary goal of this event is to showcase and bring attention to the work being done by University of Michigan students and labs on space related projects.

During Virtual Space Symposium Day, student organizations and labs will present their research in a professional environment. Additionally, professors from various departments and industry professionals will be invited to give talks about their work in the field. SEDS plans on inviting sponsors and other contacts from academia and industry along with other members of the University to the talks. SEDS will also be uploading all posters, abstracts, and presentation slides to their website for access before, during, and after the conference.

This virtual conference will bring together the exciting research and projects being worked on at the University and in industry. We hope the event creates an environment for networking and collaboration as we all discuss how we are making strides in space exploration.
