These weeks talk Lakshya will be joined with Dr Chris Pearson of RAL Space (Rutherford Appleton Laboratories) to explore the incredible growth and journey within the area of exoplanetary discovery outside of our solar system over the past 30 years. 4000+ new planets later. Dr Chris will be uncovering his own work and how the ESA Ariel mission seeks to expand the search into the Universe and all it's diverse menagerie of weird and wonderful planets such as Jupiter sized worlds orbiting ridiculously close to their parent stars, worlds made of ice, lava and even diamond, to rogue planets drifting alone in the vastness of space.
