2020 Annual Conference of the Society for Navigation Systems

We invite you to the 2020 Society of Navigation Systems Conference held at The Yeosu Theosion Resort from November 11th to 13th, 2020 under the theme of'KPS as a social public infrastructure (Korean Satellite Navigation System)'

Currently, the international community is facing an unprecedented global crisis due to the rapid spread of Corona 19. The Republic of Korea is evaluated as a model country for coping with the Corona 19 pandemic by well overcoming the initial crisis and preventing the spread of the virus. The active use of GNSS location information for public safety played a big part in the effective application of the Korean government's COVID-19 prevention policy. As such, while the importance of satellite navigation as a public infrastructure is increasing, our society is holding a regular academic conference in 2020 under the theme of KPS as a social public infrastructure.

Precise location and time (PNT) information based on satellite navigation, the core technology of the 4th industrial revolution, is a technology that is the basis of major infrastructures such as communication, finance, power, and transportation, as well as unmanned vehicles and autonomous driving. Along with the recent demand for deglobalization, there is a growing concern about the dependence of national public infrastructure on foreign systems. Amid these changes and concerns, the government recently recognized the necessity of high-precision satellite navigation services in the 4th industry, and evaluated the technical feasibility of a preliminary feasibility study for the development of the Korean Positioning System (KPS) that will be responsible for the social and public infrastructure of the future. At a time when the justification for securing an independent satellite navigation system at home and abroad increases and important policies are decided, our society aims to fulfill the mission as the only expert group related to PNT in Korea and to present the direction KPS should go forward as the social and public infrastructure of Korea. Do it. In particular, this conference will be an opportunity to share future-oriented new technologies that can differentiate KPS from existing systems, and to actively discuss systems and policies suitable for Korean social and public infrastructure. We ask for your participation in the history of PNT technology innovation by gathering the intelligence and capabilities of the expert group through the active participation of not only industry-academia-research experts, but also students who hope for the future.
