About the Lecture The story of NASA's mission to collect a sample of Asteroid Bennu and the reasons why this asteroid is so important. This talk will cover the mission from inception to completion and will feature previously unseen Hi-Res images of Asteroid Bennu as seen during the journey of over 3 billion miles as well as examining the experiments and science carried out as part of the investigative package.
About the Speaker John Maclean is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and an experienced Science Communicator in the fields of Astronomy and Astrophysics and is also an award winning Astrophotographer. John is an Ambassador for NASA's OSIRIS-REx asteroid sample return mission and is an Agent for the NEOShield-2 asteroid protection project. He has a special interest in Asteroids and Cometary science and is a researcher and member of the UK Meteor Monitoring Network.
