›43rd COSPAR Scientific Assembly
Update March 2020:
The 43rd COSPAR Scientific Assembly has been rescheduled for 28 January - 4 February 2021.
In light of the advice from the Australian Federal Government and with the current travel bans and need to safeguard our space research community at large, COSPAR 2021 will continue as planned, but with the addition of a major on-line component enabling the Assembly to become a hybrid in-person / virtual event.
The Assembly will still be held at the same venue, the International Convention Centre Sydney, from Thursday 28 January 2021 through to Thursday 4 February 2021.
The timing is perfect.
Australia’s space sector is accelerating faster than anywhere on Earth; our new Australian Space Agency is prioritising the growth of research-enabled space industry and space-inspired education and STEM; we continue to pursue space science excellence in areas such as space and solar physics, space situational awareness, planetary science, astrobiology and more; and the country and indeed region are embracing the disruption and opportunity afforded by the application of small spacecraft and artificial intelligence to space research and space technology.
The 2021 Assembly will combine the latest in space research findings with activities designed to enrich the global space research community - including helping equip our future leaders, and workshopping with space industry - and inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. You will have the opportunity of a lifetime to interact directly with everything that Australia has to offer – our science and innovation, our people, our heritage, and our beautiful environment.
The Australian space research community enthusiastically extends the invitation to you, to meet with us for the 43rd COSPAR Scientific Assembly, and in so doing to forge the friendships and opportunities that will connect space research for global impact.
We look forward to seeing you in Sydney!
